COOCHEE FILE No. 001

THE WITHLACOOCHEE

History gets a little muddy around here.

Florida has not one, but two rivers named Withlacoochee.

They don't connect. They don't even flow in the same direction.

Our Withlacoochee begins in Green Swamp, winds north through Old Florida, and empties into the Gulf at Yankeetown.

The other begins in Georgia, crosses into North Florida, and eventually joins the Suwannee.

Same name. Two completely different rivers.
